2.4.2 Height equivalent to theoretical plate

Using the height of an equivalent theoretical plate (HEPT), we can make a comparison between a column filling and a column plate. From this data, we can determine the height of the filling by the number of theoretical plates. This magnitude can be determined by the following equation:
